Iranian FM meets Emir of Qatar

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday in Doha.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday has met Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and discussed ways of promoting bilateral relations.

In this meeting Zarif deplored a recent push by the US to form a maritime coalition in the Persian Gulf and said foreign forces only create insecurity in the region.

Speaking at a meeting with his Qatari counterpart, Zarif said the responsibility of ensuring the Persian Gulf’s security lies with countries in the region, not foreign forces.

Zarif on Sunday evening left Tehran for Doha capital of Qatar, on Sunday to hold talks with senior Qatari officials.
